THE ORIGIN

During their time at LUMS, Huzaifa, Qasim, and Musa noticed a very peculiar thing. Whenever students brought chai or coffee from LUMS cafeteria, the remaining change of 5/10 rupees was usually wasted on unwanted sweets or forgotten about in some corner of everyone’s wallet. The 3 founders observed this pattern and came up with an idea to utilize this change to support their mission. The cafeteria staff was asked to integrate an option of “Rizq It” in their POS machines so that whenever a student buys chai/coffee they have an option of donating their change to Rizq during the payment process at the counter. Soon the model got viral and took off within the LUMS community and donations started to pour in. The donations were used to adopt local community schools to provide l unches to malnourished children. Drinking Chai/Coffee just got a whole new meaning. The huge success of the model has inspired Rizq to expand it to various universities, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies. Join the movement and #ChangeSeMitaoBhook.
