Rizq Foodbank Sultan Park is the first foodbank launched by Rizq. The Sultan Park Foodbank is situated in urban slums sandwiched between the affluent areas of Gulberg and DHA and has a large population of low-income households. This community comprises a significant portion of daily wagers who have migrated from their hometowns searching for work. Small cottage industries of furniture and ironworks in this area employ most of the workforce from this community. However, the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in huge losses to these industries, leaving the factory owners no choice but to initiate massive layoffs of their workers. This unemployment has exacerbated this community's financial insecurities, and many families are struggling to put food on the table. Even a single meal seems like a distant dream. Rizq aims to become a ray of hope for these hardworking families in these testing times. After our comprehensive analysis, we have expanded our program to ensure special assistance for widows, senior citizens, and disabled personnel residing in the community.
